RESUMO

African swine fever (ASF) is a highly impactful infectious disease in the swine industry, leading to substantial economic losses globally. The causative agent, African swine fever virus (ASFV), possesses intricate pathogenesis, warranting further exploration. In this study, we investigated the impact of ASFV infection on host gene transcription and organelle changes through macrophage transcriptome sequencing and ultrastructural transmission electron microscopy observation. According to the results of the transcriptome sequencing, ASFV infection led to significant alterations in the gene expression pattern of porcine bone marrow derived macrophages (BMDMs), with 2404 genes showing upregulation and 1579 genes downregulation. Cytokines, and chemokines were significant changes in the expression of BMDMs; there was significant activation of pattern recognition receptors such as Toll-like receptors and Nod-like receptors. According to the observation of the ultrastructure, mitochondrial damage and mitochondrial autophagy were widely present in ASFV-infected cells. The reduced number of macrophage pseudopodia suggested that virus-induced structural changes may compromise pathogen recognition, phagocytosis, and signal communication in macrophages. Additionally, the decreased size and inhibited acidification of secondary lysosomes in macrophages implied suppressed phagocytosis. Overall, ASFV infection resulted in significant changes in the expression of cytokines and chemokines, accompanied by the activation of NLR and TLR signaling pathways. We reported for the first time that ASFV infection led to a reduction in pseudopodia numbers and a decrease in the size and acidification of secondary lysosomes.

The combined pollution of lead (Pb) and polystyrene microplastics (PS-MPs) is common in aquatic environments. However, the combined neurotoxicity of these two pollutants is still poorly understood. In this study, zebrafish (Danio rerio) larvae were used to assess the combined neurotoxicity and mechanism of Pb and PS-MPs at environmentally relevant concentrations. The results showed that Pb (10 µg/L) induced abnormal behavior including significantly reduced movement distance, maximum acceleration, and average velocity (P < 0.05) along with altered expression of neurodevelopment-related genes (gap43 and α1-tubulin) (P < 0.05). PS-MPs (25 µg/L, 250 µg/L; diameter at 25 µm) co-exposure not only significantly reduced the concentration of Pb in the exposed solution (P < 0.01), but also decreased the uptake of Pb by downregulating the divalent metal transporter 1 gene (dmt1) (P < 0.01), thereby alleviating Pb-induced neurotoxicity. However, to demonstrate that PS-MPs alleviate the neurotoxicity of Pb by reducing Pb uptake, upregulation of dmt1 by addition of deferoxamine (DFO, an efficient iron chelator, 100 µM) significantly increased the Pb uptake and exacerbated neurotoxicity in zebrafish. In summary, our results demonstrated that PS-MPs alleviate Pb neurotoxicity by downregulating the mRNA level of dmt1 and decreasing the Pb uptake. This study provides a new insight into the combined neurotoxicity and underlying mechanisms of PS-MPs and Pb on zebrafish.

This experiment investigated the effects of different levels of bile acid (BA) additives in diets on the lactation performance, serum antioxidant metabolites, and serum biochemical indices of 60 multiparous mid-lactation dairy cows. The cows were randomized to receive one of the four homogeneous treatments, with the BA preparation supplemented at 0, 6, 12, and 18 g/head/d. The experiment lasted for 14 weeks. The first 2 weeks were the pre-feeding period. The milk yield and composition data were recorded weekly, and the dry matter intake and antioxidative blood index were analyzed on the 6th, 10th, and 14th weeks of the study. On the 84th day of the experiment, the experimental group exhibited significantly higher levels of total protein and albumin, by 57.5% and 55.6%, respectively, compared to the control group (p < 0.05). On both the 28th and 84th days of the trial, the experimental group showed a markedly higher lipase content compared to the control group, by 26.5% and 25.2%, respectively (p < 0.05). Furthermore, the experimental group displayed notably elevated levels of superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, and total antioxidant capacity, surpassing the control group by 17.4%, 21.6%, and 8.7%, respectively. In conclusion, BA additives improve the serum antioxidant indices of dairy cows, thereby enhancing the performance of these cows.

Excessive lipid mobilization will snatch cell membrane lipids in postpartum dairy cows, which may impair the function of immune cells, including peripheral mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and polymorphonuclear granulocytes (PMNs). Acetate, as a precursor and the energy source of milk fat synthesis, plays a key role in lipid synthesis and the energy supply of dairy cows. However, there is little information about the effect of sodium acetate (NaAc) on the immune function of PBMC and PMN in postpartum dairy cows. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the effects of NaAc on the immune functions of PBMCs and PMNs in postpartum dairy cows. In this experiment, twenty-four postpartum multiparous Holstein cows were randomly selected and divided into a NaAc treatment group and a control group. Our results demonstrated that the dietary addition of NaAc increased (p < 0.05) the number of monocytes and the monocyte ratio, suggesting that these postpartum cows fed with NaAc may have better immunity. These expressions of genes (LAP, XBP1, and TAP) involved in the antimicrobial activity in PBMCs were elevated (p < 0.05), suggesting that postpartum dairy cows supplemented with NaAc had the ability of antimicrobial activity. In addition, the mRNA expression of the monocarboxylate transporters MCT1 and MCT4 in PBMCs was increased (p < 0.05) in diets supplemented with NaAc in comparison to the control. Notably, the expression of the XBP1 gene related to antimicrobial activity in PMN was upregulated with the addition of NaAc. The mRNA expression of genes (TLN1, ITGB2, and SELL) involved in adhesion was profoundly increased (p < 0.05) in the NaAc groups. In conclusion, our study provided a novel resolution strategy in which the use of NaAc can contribute to immunity in postpartum dairy cows by enhancing the ability of antimicrobial and adhesion in PBMCs and PMNs.

AIMS: This study aims to provide representative information on heart failure (HF) patients in China, especially older adults aged ≥75 years. We aim to clarify the age-related discrepancies in performance measures and the modifying effect of age on the impact of HF patients' characteristics on clinical outcomes. METHODS AND RESULTS: All HF patients admitted into five tertiary and four secondary hospitals of the Capital Medical University were divided into two groups according to age: 1419 (53.3%) were <75 years, and 1244 (46.7%) were ≥75 years. Older HF patients were more likely to be women, with higher left ventricular ejection fraction, with co-morbidities including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease/asthma, anaemia, chronic kidney disease, stroke/transient ischemic attack (TIA), atrial fibrillation/atrial flutter, hypertension, and coronary artery disease, while obesity, diabetes mellitus, hypercholesterolaemia and valvular heart disease were more prevalent among younger HF patients. Left ventricular ejection fraction assessment was performed in a similar proportion of patients in the younger and older groups (81.7% vs. 80.5%, P = 0.426), while B-type natriuretic peptide/N terminal pro brain natriuretic peptide was tested in a lower proportion in the younger group (84.8% vs. 89%, P = 0.001). At discharge, HF with reduced ejection fraction patients were less likely to receive beta-blockers, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors/angiotensin II receptor blockers, or combined beta-blockers and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors/angiotensin II receptor blockers therapy in the older group (49.74% vs. 63.2%, P = 0.002; 52.9% vs. 64.7%, P = 0.006; and 28.57% vs. 45.5%, P < 0.001, respectively) but were equally likely to receive mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists in the two age groups (80.8% vs. 84.1%, P = 0.322). Older patients with HF had higher risk of in-hospital and 1 year mortality (2.7% vs. 1.3%, P = 0.011; 21.7% vs. 12.5%; P < 0.001, respectively). Higher body mass index was associated with better outcomes in both age groups. New York Heart Association functional class IV and estimated glomerular filtration rate < 60 mL/min/1.73 m2 were independent predictors of 1 year mortality. The associations between patients' characteristics and risk of mortality were not modified by age. CONCLUSIONS: HF patients aged ≥75 years had distinct clinical profiles, received worse in-hospital therapies and experienced higher in-hospital and 1 year mortality.

OBJECTIVE: To date, there is no consensus on the surgery strategies of cranioplasty (CP) and ventriculoperitoneal shunt (VPS) placement. This meta-analysis aimed to investigate the safety of staged and simultaneous operation in patients with comorbid cranial defects with hydrocephalus to inform future surgery protocols. METHODS: A meta-analysis of PubMed, Ovid, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library databases from the inception dates to February 8, 2023 adherent to PRISMA guidelines was conducted. The pooled analyses were conducted using RevMan 5.3 software. The outcomes included postoperative infection, reoperation, shunt obstruction, hematoma, and subdural effusion. RESULTS: Of the 956 studies initially retrieved, 10 articles encompassing 515 patients were included. Among the total patients, 193 (37.48%) and 322 (62.52%), respectively, underwent simultaneous and staged surgeries. The finding of pooled analysis indicated that staged surgery was associated with lower rate of subdural effusion (14% in the simultaneous groups vs. 5.4% in the staged groups; OR = 2.39, 95% CI: 1.04-5.49, p = 0.04). However, there were no significant differences in overall infection (OR = 1.92, 95% CI: 0.74-4.97, p = 0.18), central nervous system infection (OR = 1.50, 95% CI: 0.68-3.31, p = 0.31), cranioplasty infection (OR = 1.58, 95% CI: 0.50-5.00, p = 0.44), shunt infection (OR = 1.30, 95% CI: 0.38-4.52, p = 0.67), reoperation (OR = 1.51, 95% CI: 0.38-6.00, p = 0.55), shunt obstruction (OR = 0.73, 95% CI: 0.25-2.16, p = 0.57), epidural hematoma (OR = 2.20, 95% CI: 0.62-7.86, p = 0.22), subdural hematoma (OR = 1.20, 95% CI: 0.10-14.19, p = 0.88), and intracranial hematoma (OR = 1.31, 95% CI: 0.42-4.07, p = 0.64). Moreover, subgroup analysis failed to yield new insights. CONCLUSIONS: Staged surgery is associated with a lower rate of postoperative subdural effusion. However, from the evidence of sensitivity analysis, this result is not stable. Therefore, our conclusion should be viewed with caution, and neurosurgeons in practice should make individualized decisions based on each patient's condition and cerebrospinal fluid tap test.

Swine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus (SADS-CoV) is a newly discovered emerging alphacoronavirus. SADS-CoV shares over 90% genome sequence identity with bat alphacoronavirus HKU2. SADS-CoV was associated with severe diarrhea and high mortality rates in piglets. Accurate serological diagnosis of SADS-CoV infection is key in managing the emerging SADS-CoV. However, thus far there have been no effective antibody-based diagnostic tests for diagnose of SADS-CoV exposure. Here, monoclonal antibody (MAb) 6E8 against SADS-CoV N protein accurately recognized SADS-CoV infection. Then, MAb 6E8 was utilized as a blocking antibody to develop blocking ELISA (bELISA). We customized the rN coating antigen with concentration 0.25 µg/mL. According to receiver operator characteristic curve analysis, the cutoff value of the bELISA was determined as 38.19% when the max Youden index was 0.955, and specificity was 100%, and sensitivity was 95.5%. Specificity testing showed that there was no cross-reactivity with other serum positive swine enteric coronaviruses, such as porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV), porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV), porcine rotavirus (PoRV), and porcine sapelovirus (PSV). In conclusion, we customized a novel and high-quality blocking ELISA for detection of SADS-CoV infection, and the current bELISA will be linked to a clinical and epidemiological assessment of SADS-CoV infection. IMPORTANCE SADS-CoV was reported to be of high potential for dissemination among various of host species. Accurate serological diagnosis of SADS-CoV infection is key in managing the emerging SADS-CoV. However, thus far there have been no effective antibody-based diagnostic tests for diagnose of SADS-CoV exposure. We customed a novel and high-quality bELISA assay for detection of SADS-CoV N protein antibodies, and the current bELISA will be linked to a clinical and epidemiological assessment of SADS-CoV infection.

BACKGROUNDS: Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is an autoimmune disease with significant female preponderance. X inactive specific transcript (XIST) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) and a key regulator of X-chromosome inactivation which is related to the sex-bias of autoimmunity. And Th17 cell proportion was significantly elevated in NMOSD according to our previous study. OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to explore the expression levels of lncRNA XIST-KDM6A-TSAd pathway in lymphocytes of female NMOSD patients, and investigate its possible relationship with pathogenesis of NMOSD. METHODS AND RESULTS: The study enrolled 30 acute-phase untreated female NMOSD patients and 30 age-matched female healthy controls, their lymphocytes were collected for experiments. Microarray as well as validation experiments showed lncRNA XIST was significantly downregulated in the NMOSD group. And the levels of lysine demethylase 6A (KDM6A) decreased in NMOSD and showed significant positive correlation with XIST. The levels of T cell-specific adapter (TSAd) mRNA and protein levels were significantly lower in NMOSD. And Chromatin immunoprecipitation assay demonstrated that NMOSD had more H3K27me3 modification than control at TSAd promoter region. CONCLUSIONS: The present study introduced a potential pathway that following lncRNA XIST downregulation, which process may promote Th17 differentiation in NMOSD. These findings shed new light on the immune regulation mechanism about lncRNA XIST and related epigenetic features, which may contribute to develop female-specific treatment plans.

Atrophic gastritis can cause mucosa thinning, while detailed metrological evidence is lacking. We aimed to compare the morphological features of full-thickness gastric mucosa in antrum and corpus and evaluate the diagnostic performance for atrophy. Gastric cancer patients were prospectively enrolled (N = 401). Full-thickness gastric mucosa was obtained. Foveolar length, glandular length and musculus mucosae thickness were measured. Pathological assessment was conducted using the visual analogue scale of the updated Sydney system. Areas under the receiver operating characteristic curves (AUCs) were calculated for different atrophy degrees. In corpus mucosa, foveolar length and musculus mucosae thickness were positively correlated with the atrophy degree (spearman's correlation coefficient [rs] = 0.231 and 0.224, respectively, P < .05); glandular length and total mucosal thickness were negatively correlated (rs = -0.399 and -0.114, respectively, P < .05). Total mucosal thickness did not correlate with antral atrophy degree (P = .107). The AUCs of total mucosal thickness for corpus and antral atrophy were 0.570 (P < .05) and 0.592 (P < .05), respectively. The AUCs for corpus atrophy, moderate and severe, and severe atrophy were 0.570 (P < .05), 0.571 (P = .003), and 0.584 (P = .006), respectively. The corresponding AUCs for antral atrophy were 0.592 (P = .010), 0.548 (P = .140), and 0.521 (P = .533), respectively. The tendency for mucosal thickness to thin with atrophy occurred in the corpus rather than in the antrum. The diagnostic performance of corpus and antral mucosal thickness was limited for atrophy.

Ferroptosis is a newly discovered form of regulated cell death that is triggered primarily by lipid peroxidation. A growing body of evidence has implicated ferroptosis in the pathophysiology of traumatic brain injury (TBI). However, none of these studies focused its role on TBI-induced hippocampal injury. Here, we demonstrated that the distinct ferroptotic signature was detected in the injured hippocampus at the early stage of TBI. Besides, a prominent pro-ferroptosis environment was detected in the ipsilateral hippocampus after TBI, including elevated levels of arachidonic acid (AA), ACLS4, and ALXO15, and deficiency of GPX4. Subsequently, we used AAV-mediated Gpx4 overexpression to counteract ferroptosis in the hippocampus, and found that TBI-induced cognitive deficits were significantly alleviated after Gpx4 overexpression. Biochemical results also confirmed that TBI-induced hippocampal ferroptosis and synaptic damage were partially reversed by Gpx4 overexpression. In addition, Gpx4 overexpression inhibited TBI-induced neuroinflammation and peripheral macrophage infiltration. Interestingly, the results of transwell migration assay showed that ferroptotic neurons increased CCL2 expression and promoted iBMDM cell migration. However, this effect was inhibited by CCL2 antagonist, RS102895. These data suggested that inhibition of ferroptosis may be as a potential strategy to ameliorate TBI-induced cognitive deficits through blockade of hippocampal ferroptosis and neuroinflammation.

Polyploidy after hybridization between species can lead to immediate post-zygotic isolation, causing saltatory origin of new species. Although the incidence of polyploidization in plants is high, it is thought that a new polyploid lineage can succeed only if it establishes a new ecological niche divergent from its progenitor lineages. We tested the hypothesis that Rhodiola integrifolia from North America is an allopolyploid produced by R. rhodantha and R. rosea and determined whether its survival can be explained by the niche divergence hypothesis. To this end, we sequenced two low-copy nuclear genes (ncpGS and rpb2) in a phylogenetic analysis of 42 Rhodiola species and tested for niche equivalency and similarity using Schoener's D as the index of niche overlap. Our phylogeny-based approach showed that R. integrifolia possesses alleles from both R. rhodantha and R. rosea. Dating analysis showed that the hybridization event that led to R. integrifolia occurred ca. 1.67 Mya and niche modeling analysis showed that at this time, both R. rosea and R. rhodantha may have been present in Beringia, providing the opportunity for the hybridization event. We also found that the niche of R. integrifolia differs from that of its progenitors in both niche breadth and optimum. Taken together, these results confirm the hybrid origin of R. integrifolia and support the niche divergence hypothesis for this tetraploid species. Our results underscore the fact that lineages with no current overlapping distribution could produce hybrid descendants in the past, when climate oscillations made their distributions overlap.

Bats are reservoirs for diverse coronaviruses, including swine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus (SADS-CoV). SADS-CoV has been reported to have broad cell tropism and inherent potential to cross host species barriers for dissemination. We rescued synthetic wild-type SADS-CoV using one-step assembly of a viral cDNA clone by homologous recombination in yeast. Furthermore, we characterized SADS-CoV replication in vitro and in neonatal mice. We found that SADS-CoV caused severe watery diarrhea, weight loss, and a 100% fatality rate in 7- and 14-day-old mice after intracerebral infection. We also detected SADS-CoV-specific N protein in the brain, lungs, spleen, and intestines of infected mice. Furthermore, SADS-CoV infection triggers excessive cytokine expression that encompasses a broad array of proinflammatory mediators, including interleukin 1ß (IL-1ß), IL-6, IL-8, tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 10 (CXCL10), interferon beta (IFN-ß), IFN-γ, and IFN-λ3. This study highlights the importance of identifying neonatal mice as a model for developing vaccines or antiviral drugs against SADS-CoV infection. IMPORTANCE SADS-CoV is the documented spillover of a bat coronavirus that causes severe disease in pigs. Pigs are in frequent contact with both humans and other animals and theoretically possess a greater chance, compared to many other species, of promoting cross-species viral transmission. SADS-CoV has been reported to have broad cell tropism and inherent potential to cross host species barriers for dissemination. Animal models are an essential feature of the vaccine design toolkit. Compared with neonatal piglets, the mouse is small, making it an economical choice for animal models for SADS-CoV vaccine design. This study showed the pathology of neonatal mice infected with SADS-CoV, which should be very useful for vaccine and antiviral studies.

Specifically, optical components made fully or partially from reconfigurable and stimuli-responsive soft materials, referred to as soft photonics, are poised to form versatile platforms in various areas; however, a limited scale, narrow spectral adaptability, and poor stability are still formidable challenges. Herein, a facile way is developed to program the optical jigsaw puzzle of nematic liquid crystals via pixelated holographic surface reliefs, leading to an era of manufacturing for programmable soft materials with tailored functions. Multiscale jigsaw puzzles are established and endowed with unprecedented stability and durability, further sketching a prospective framework toward customized adaptive photonic architectures. This work demonstrates a reliable and efficient approach for directly assembling soft matter, unlocking the long-sought full potential of stimuli-responsive soft systems, and providing opportunities to inspire the next generation of soft photonics and relevant areas.

Tea tree oil (TTO) plays an important role in regulating lipid metabolism and has anti-inflammatory properties. In postpartum dairy cows, dry matter intake (DMI) is dramatically decreased, resulting in lipid metabolism disorder and the systemic pro-inflammatory response. However, the effects of TTO on glucolipid metabolism and immunity in postpartum dairy cows remain uninvestigated. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the effects of TTO on production performance, serum biochemical indicators, and immunity in postpartum dairy cows. Our results demonstrate that DMI tended to increase (p = 0.07) in the total mixed ration (TMR) diets supplemented with 0.01% TTO/dry matter (DM) basis relative to that in the control group. The 4% fat-corrected milk (FCM) content in the 0.01% and 0.02% TTO groups showed an increase (p = 0.09) compared with that in the control. Remarkably, the levels of globulin (GLO) and immunoglobulin G (IgG) were elevated (p < 0.05) in the TMR diet supplemented with 0.02% TTO compared to those in the control group. The TTO caused no profound changes in cholesterol (CHO), triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), or low-density lipoprotein (LDL). Notably, 0.02% TTO increased (p < 0.05) the serum glucose concentration relative to that in the control group. In conclusion, our results demonstrate that TTO could improve glucolipid metabolism and enhance immunity in postpartum dairy cows. It may be a novel resolution strategy for body condition recovery and the improvement of milk performance.

Swine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus (SADS-CoV) is an emerging swine enteric alphacoronavirus that can cause acute diarrhea, vomiting, dehydration, and death of newborn piglets. In this study, we developed a double-antibody sandwich quantitative enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (DAS-qELISA) for detection of SADS-CoV by using an anti-SADS-CoV N protein rabbit polyclonal antibody (PAb) and a specific monoclonal antibody (MAb) 6E8 against the SADS-CoV N protein. The PAb was used as the capture antibodies and HRP-labeled 6E8 as the detector antibody. The detection limit of the developed DAS-qELISA assay was 1 ng/mL of purified antigen and 101.08TCID50/mL of SADS-CoV, respectively. Specificity assays showed that the developed DAS-qELISA has no cross-reactivity with other swine enteric coronaviruses, such as porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV), and porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV). Three-day-old piglets were challenged with SADS-CoV and collected anal swab samples which were screened for the presence of SADS-CoV by using DAS-qELISA and reverse transcriptase PCR (RT-PCR). The coincidence rate of the DAS-qELISA and RT-PCR was 93.93%, and the kappa value was 0.85, indicating that DAS-qELISA is a reliable method for applying antigen detection of clinical samples. KEY POINTS: • The first double-antibody sandwich quantitative enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for detection SADS-CoV infection. • The custom ELISA is useful for controlling the SADS-CoV spread.

RESUMO

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) plays an important role in promoting tumor vascular growth and changing vascular wall permeability. With the in-depth study of tumor hyperthermia and tumor microenvironment, more and more studies have shown that hyperthermia exerts multiple regulatory effects on VEGF in tumor microenvironment. Combined with current research progress in China and abroad, this article reviews the effect of hyperthermia on VEGF and its related cells and factors in tumor microenvironment, aiming to provide new ideas for the clinical application of tumor hyperthermia combined with immune or targeted therapy.

Objective:To investigate the regulation and possible mechanism of hyperthermia (HT) on the ferroptosis of squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue cell line CAL-27.Methods:Half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC 50) of Fer-1, an inhibitor of ferroptosis, was detected by CCK-8 assay and used for subsequent experiments. CAL-27 cells were divided into the HT, control, Fer-1 and HT+ Fer-1 groups according to experimental design. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels and iron ion concentration were determined by corresponding detection kits. The p53 and TfR1 mRNA levels were detected by real-time reverse transcription PCR. Cell migration was detected by cell scratch test and cell apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry. Results:HT significantly up-regulated the ROS levels ( P<0.01) and iron ion concentration ( P<0.001), and significantly increased the expression levels of p53 and TfR1 mRNA (both P<0.01). The cell migration ability was decreased ( P<0.001), whereas cell apoptosis rate was increased by HT ( P<0.01). In the HT+Fer-1 group, the ROS levels ( P<0.001), iron ion concentration ( P<0.001), expression levels of p53 and TfR1 mRNA (both P<0.01) were significantly down-regulated, the cell migration ability was recovered ( P<0.01), and cell apoptosis rate was decreased ( P<0.01) compared with those in the HT group, respectively. Conclusions:HT may induce the ferroptosis of CAL-27 cell line, inhibit cell migration ability and promote cell apoptosis by activating the p53/TfR1 pathway.

Answer sorting and filtering are two closely related steps for determining the answer to a question. Answer sorting is designed to produce an ordered list of scores based on Top-k and contextual criteria. Answer filtering optimizes the selection according to other criteria, such as the range of time constraints the user expects. However, the unclear number of answers and time constraints, as well as the high score of false positive results, indicate that the traditional sorting and selection methods cannot guarantee the quality of answers to multi-answer questions. Therefore, this study proposes MATQA, a component based on multi-answer temporal question reasoning, using a re-validation framework to convert the Top-k answer list output by the QA system into a clear number of answer combinations, and a new multi-answer based evaluation index is proposed for this output form. First, the highly correlated subgraph is selected by calculating the scores of the boot node and the related fact node. Second, the subgraph attention inference module is introduced to determine the initial answer with the highest probability. Finally, the alternative answers are clustered at the semantic level and the time constraint level. Meanwhile, the candidate answers with similar types and high scores but do not satisfy the semantic constraints or the time constraints are eliminated to ensure the number and accuracy of final answers. Experiments on the multi-answer TimeQuestions dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of the answer combinations output by MATQA.
